May 5th, 2022 marked the fourth anniversary of the opening of Ubud Muay Thai gym and as such offered an opportunity to reflect on what we achieved so far and where we are heading in the future as a community! Then, we celebrated it with our clients, friends, and the community itself on May 14th, 2022. It was such a fun and exciting event!
What started out as a small gym on a hidden back street in Nyuh Gading, Ubud, Ubud Muay Thai has now grown into a community hub where people of all walks of life come to improve their health, share their deep passion for martial arts, and also develop lasting friendships.
Our anniversary celebration begins with a welcome speech from both of our founders (Ocho and Edsar), delivering our yearly anniversary theme, “Stronger Together”. Through this message, we intend to empower the other local MSME (UMKM) with the spirit of fighting together to strive and survive in this post-pandemic era. More than 60 people attended our anniversary event. These are local entrepreneurs, loyal clients, friends, and Muay Thai enthusiasts all across Ubud-Gianyar.
In this special event, we also welcomed other Muay Thai gyms, Kebo Iwa and SOMA Fight Club, to show and promote sportsmanship among martial arts communities in Bali. We held a fun Muay Thai friendly match, where each camp brought three of its members to do Muay Thai sparring.
“The main purpose of this event is to build a stronger solidarity between all SME business owners in Ubud and Gianyar, during this gradual change to Endemic time.” said Ocho, our Founder and Head Trainer.
“Beside that as the first Muay Thai community in Ubud, we would like to remind and also celebrate this special day with our clients, friends, and the whole martial arts community here, and get stronger together.” add Eddie, our Co-Founder, Trainer and RTV 2021 champion.
