Muay Thai for Groups in Bali: Friends, Teams and Private Group Sessions

· PROGRAM,MUAY THAI 101

Training is better with people you know. Whether it’s a group of friends on holiday, a team looking for something different, or family members who want to try something new, Muay Thai in Bali is easier to do together than most people think.

Can You Train Muay Thai With Friends in Bali?

Yes. At Ubud Muay Thai in Ubud, Bali, friends can join the same class together, train side by side, and partner up for drills. No experience is needed, and mixed groups of beginners and experienced fighters train in the same session, with trainers adjusting the intensity for each person.

Many people arrive in Bali curious about Muay Thai but hesitant to walk into a gym alone. Coming with friends removes that first barrier. You already have a training partner, someone to laugh with when your first combination falls apart, and someone to push you through the last round of conditioning.

Group sessions also make it easy to mix levels. One friend might have trained for years while another has never worn gloves. In a well-run class, both get what they need. The experienced fighter sharpens technique, while the beginner learns stance, guard, and basic strikes at a comfortable pace.

Why Train Muay Thai as a Group?

Training as a group keeps everyone motivated, accountable, and consistent. You are more likely to show up when friends are waiting, more likely to push harder when someone is next to you, and more likely to keep training after your first week. Partner drills also become easier when you already trust the person holding pads.

There is a real difference between hitting a bag on your own and drilling with a partner who feeds you strikes and reacts to your timing. Our breakdown on training alone versus with a partner explains why progress usually speeds up when you train with someone else.

Groups also bring energy into the room. Shared struggle builds connection quickly. By the end of a session, most groups are swapping stories about who gassed out first and planning when to come back.

Is Muay Thai Good for Team Building?

Yes. Muay Thai builds trust, communication, and shared effort in a way most team activities do not. Partners take turns holding pads and striking, which requires focus and cooperation. Everyone faces the same challenge regardless of their role at work, and the session ends with a real sense of shared achievement.

Unlike a meeting room workshop, a Muay Thai session puts everyone on equal footing. The manager and the new hire both learn the same jab, both sweat through the same rounds, and both have to rely on their partner to get through the drills. That kind of experience breaks down barriers quickly.

It is also a genuine workout and a proven stress reliever. If your team is working long hours, a session can reset everyone’s energy. Our article on how Muay Thai training relieves stress explains what happens in your body and mind after a hard session.

Which Classes Work Best for Mixed Groups?

The best classes for mixed groups are Muay Thai Pads & Bags, Basic Muay Thai, Basic Boxing, and Conditioning. These sessions are open to all or entry levels, require no experience and let trainers adjust intensity for each person. They give beginners a safe start while keeping experienced members challenged.

Muay Thai Pads & Bags is our most popular class and works well for groups because everyone hits, moves, and sweats from start to finish. Basic Muay Thai at entry level covers stance, guard, basic strikes, and movement, which is ideal if most of your group is new. Basic Boxing keeps things simple with hands and footwork, and Conditioning focuses on fitness without any technique required.

You can see the full lineup on our classes page. If your group includes complete beginners, our guide to what beginners ask before their first class answers most of the common questions about fitness, gear, and sparring.

Can You Book a Private Session for a Group?

Yes. Groups can arrange private training so the session is built around their goals, whether that is fitness, technique, or simply having fun together. Private groups get dedicated trainer attention and a session paced for everyone in the room. Rates for groups depend on size, so contact the team directly for a quote.

Private sessions are a good choice for corporate teams, birthday groups, or friends who want the gym experience without joining a public class. Your trainer can shape the session around your group’s level, mixing technique, pad work, and conditioning.

For larger teams, Ubud Muay Thai also offers space rental with exercise equipment, and home service training in the Ubud and Gianyar area if your group would rather train at your villa or office. All of these are listed on our services page. For group quotes, message the team on WhatsApp at +62 857-3826-1281.

How Much Does Group Training Cost at Ubud Muay Thai?

For public classes, each person joins on their own pass. An All Access daily pass is IDR 200,000, a weekly pass is IDR 700,000, a bi-weekly pass is IDR 1,300,000, and a monthly pass is IDR 1,800,000. Private group sessions are priced on request, depending on group size and session length.

Every pass includes hand wraps, shin guards, and head guards, so your group does not need to buy gear before training. Gloves are available to rent for IDR 50,000 per visit, with sizes from 8 to 14 oz to fit different hands and builds.

For a complete breakdown of every option, read how much training costs at Ubud Muay Thai. If some of your group plan to stay longer than a week, the weekly and monthly passes usually work out as better value than buying daily passes.

Can Groups Stay and Train Together in Bali?

Yes. Groups can book an all-inclusive training camp that combines accommodation, fresh daily meals and small-group training in one package. Camps run from four days to one month, with morning and afternoon sessions suitable for beginners to advanced levels, so your whole group can train, eat and recover in one place.

A camp takes the planning out of a group trip. You do not need to coordinate transport to the gym, find places to eat, or work out when everyone is free to train. Morning sessions start at 8:00 AM and afternoon sessions at 3:00 PM, leaving the middle of the day open to rest or explore Ubud.
